One off consultation and planting plan
£180 fixed fee
A service intended for those in possession of a garden and unsure where to begin. After a basic site analysis looking at soil type, aspect and views and a consultation about what kind of garden you want, you will receive a list of suggested work to carry out, an illustrated list of plants that are suited to your site and information on how to look after them, and a sketch of how the proposed changes will look. I can advise on finding contractors and sourcing plants.
All projects are different but the process is always roughly the same. After an initial meeting to discuss the project and a site visit to get a feel of the place , I will send you a written brief that will be the basis of all work carried out, a breakdown of what I charge for and a fee proposal.
Once you agree on a fee for the concept design stage, I will carry out an initial site analysis and context study in order to develop the concept design. If required there will be a survey done by a professional surveyor, but this depends on the scale of the work. For small replanting projects with no major landscaping changes this may not be necessary. Developing the concept design is the stage where we really work together, discussing the project in detail to understand exactly what you want and what is proposed, using sketches, elevations and plans to visualise the garden as it will be and listening to changes and suggestions.
When the Concept design has been agreed and finalised, we begin the detailed design, producing construction plans and details that allow the garden to be built, followed by detailed planting plans. I do not carry out landscaping services but can advise on contractors and will oversee the build. Finally I will source plants and do the planting.
After completion I will make regular follow up visits for a period of time to make sure the garden is settling in and advise on a maintenance program. I can also take care of long term maintenance within the London area.
